One of the most famous here is the so-called "Majolika House", built by Otto Wagner in 1898 [pic 1]. Its facade is covered with individually painted glazed tiles, showing a flower pattern. Just next to it is the "Linke Wienzeile 38" [pic 2], also built by Otto Wagner. Here you find golden plant ornaments and the "Ruferinnen" (calling women) on the roof. A little up the Vienna River you get to the "Ruediger-Hof" [pic 3], built in 1902. Inside there is a nice cafe with a shady guest garten. The building on [pic 4] is not far from the "Ruediger-Hof" and just opposite the underground station "Pilgramgasse"...
The "Vienna Secession Building" [pic 5] is only indirectly located at the Vienna River today. In 1897/98 it was built by Josef Maria Olbrich as an exhibition place for Vienna's alternative to Art Nouveau, the Secession. The river itself is hidden under the street (=
